Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cogitrac Voice?

Cogitrac Voice is a platform that helps you monitor your voice. Record daily, see your voice patterns, and track changes over time. You can get reports on your voice metrics and have the option to participate in research — all from your phone or computer.

It is not a medical device and is for research and informational purposes only.

Who can use this platform?

Cogitrac Voice is designed for:

  • Anyone — who wants to monitor their voice patterns and/or participate in voice biomarker research
  • Researchers — who want to run clinical trials and analyze voice data
How does voice analysis work?

Your voice recording is analyzed for acoustic features. These features are compared to your personal baseline to detect changes over time.

How often should I record?

We recommend recording once daily, at the same time each day (morning is best). Consistency is more important than frequency.

What if I skip a day of recording?

That's perfectly fine. Occasional missed days do not impact your baseline or compromise data integrity. We understand that consistency can be challenging.

Simply resume your recordings the following day. Long-term consistency is what drives meaningful insights, not daily perfection.

What happens to my recordings?

Your recordings are analyzed in real-time and deleted immediately after analysis. We do not store the audio files, only the extracted voice features (numerical data) are retained for your longitudinal tracking.

Your data is fully encrypted and anonymized. We never have access to your raw audio after the analysis is complete.

What does "Your baseline is still stabilizing" mean?

Your voice baseline becomes more reliable with more data. With fewer than 30 recordings, your ranges are still settling. Changes detected during this period are likely normal variation.

How do I delete my data?

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete individual recordings — available directly in the app at any time
  • Delete your entire profile — accessible from the Profile page; this permanently removes all your personal information

If you are participating in a clinical trial: You may still delete your profile at any time, which will remove your personal information. However, de-identified research data that has already been collected may be retained for ongoing study purposes, as permitted by the trial's research protocols.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and encrypted at rest (AES-256) within the database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, and access is restricted to authorized research personnel only.

Can I use this for clinical diagnosis?

No. Cogitrac Voice is for research purposes only. It is not a medical device and should not be used for diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making.
